It’s Changed A Lot

Hello, Lovelies!

I have gotten asked about my skincare routine as of late. Originally, I did drop my skincare routine on Instagram. The original highlight for that is still up if you want to go compare notes.

What Products I Used to Use

I did originally create a post and an Instagram highlight of all the products I used originally. A lot of these disappeared and have been replaced.

  • E.L.F. Daily Face Cleanser – It currently shows out of stock on the ELF website and they could very well have discontinued the product but I liked this one because it was water based and didn’t strip my skin.
  • Philosophy the microdelivery exfoliating facial wash
  • Garnier Skinactive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream for Combo/Normal Skin
  • Clarasonic face brush
  • Witch Hazel – For skin toning.

What Products I Use Now

So that list has kind of slimmed down big time. With the news in 2021 that the clarisonics were being discontinued, I kind of started slacking on my skincare.Plus we weren’t going to many places in 2020 and the beginning of 2021. But as the year up ticked I started getting back into a semi-ritual of skincare.  As a note, I have discovered recently that Michael Todd Beauty has created clarisonic compatible heads to fill the void, and they happen to be cheaper than the clarisonic ones were. I haven’t ordered any yet but will keep you posted. If I end up liking the brushes then when the clarisonic dies I very well might switch to a Michael Todd Beauty clarisonic equivalent.

The products I’ve been using regularly are as follows:

  • E.L.F. Daily Face Cleanser – Turns out they haven’t discontinued it, but have repackaged it!
  • CBD Soap – my favorite has been the Nooks + Crannies LEEF soap from LEEF Organics. My favorite scents are the White Tea & Ginger & Black Chamomile. However, from just checking their website for this, it appears this scent might be discontinued – which sucks!
  • Clarasonic face brush
  • Witch Hazel – I use this for toning my skin. It was also part of my original skincare routine, and this is one of my favorites. This will even help remove makeup that you might have missed with your remover.
  • Micellar Water – I use this in the mornings when I don’t have time to fully sit and wash my face. This does take away only the dirt, and then I follow this up with my witch hazel.
  • Belif Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream – This little bugger is my favorite skin care secret. To those of you younger than my 28 years, listen to me now. It is never too early to start an eye cream regime. My favorite part of this one is it is great for dryness, appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, firmness and elasticity around the eye.
  • Garnier Skinactive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream for Combo/Normal Skin – This is the only moisturizer that I use as an Oily girl because it doesn’t make me oily. They also have one for dry skin so feel free to check it out if that is one of your issues.
  • Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen in SPF 40 – Why? Because even if you aren’t going to be out in full sunlight you still need to be putting sunscreen on. Why? Because you’re still gonna have harmful UV rays hitting your skin in some way/shape/form. Trust me.
  • Jade face & eye roller – I use the eye roller alongside my eye cream and then the face roller to work on the rest of my facial puffiness.

How I Use My Products

So obviously there is still a routine, I’ve just slimmed it down. Now this could change depending on if I choose to add more to my routine.

Essentially, I only use the CBD soap in the shower because I use it more regularly there. However, the morning routine is really where it is.

  • Step one is the micellar water that I use by Garnier. I just use one of my makeup remover pads, add a little of the micellar water to it, and then just wipe my face down. I use this on days when I have to get out of the house quickly. Otherwise, is it my Clarisonic with my E.L.F. Cleanser in my bathroom or my CBD soap on my face in the shower – you’d be surprised as how well it works.
  • Step two is the witch hazel. I’ll take another of my makeup remover pads and run that over my face to tone my skin. This helps to remove any potential dark spots that might be on my skin.
  • Step three is my eye cream, eye roller, & face roller. Essentially, how I start is I put my eye cream on and take the eye roller and massage it in. It helps to reduce the puffiness of my under eyes. Then I use my face roller to work on the puffiness in the rest of my face. Depuffing makes me just feel good and it’s like a face massage.
  • Step four is the sunscreen. We gotta make sure that we put it on so that we don’t have any UV ray damage. You’d be surprised what damage it has done without any sunburns. I’ve never been to a dermatologist because I haven’t felt the need to go to one. I’ve been able to handle my acne issues with just my over the counter items.
  • Step five is my moisturizer. I take my time to really massage it in because I know that during the winter my skin really needs it. So I go a little more ham in the winter on the moisturizer. Usually during the summer months, I try to aim for just the spots that are a little more dry.

In truth, I really need to get back into using my Philosophy exfoliating wash again but I haven’t replaced my last bottle yet. I will recommend getting you a face brush though like the clarisonic because it literally makes a difference so that you’re keeping your hands touching your face to a minimum.

However, that is all I have for you currently in regards to my skin routine.

Light & Love,

Trula Marie
