My Favorite Makeup Brushes

Happy Thursday, Belles & Beaux!

I know I was missing Tuesday and I apologize for that but I was and still am recuperating from my crazy weekend full of tons of learning. Plus I had a really great date Tuesday night so I unfortunately couldn’t get this out on Wednesday like I wanted either.

Now, if you follow me on Instagram then the name of these brushes might feel a little familiar. I got my VIP kit back in June during one of the events that I attended with Blogger Xchange. This was to introduce one of the most amazing brands that I have ever heard of. There are so many good things to say about this brand so I’m not going to keep dragging on and get to the point.

The Quick and Clean Story

Beautiac is, first and foremost, a woman ran company that was created out of the fact that people who use make do not like to clean their makeup brushes. I personally hate it because it’s such a process and you never really get them clean when you do it. And doing it at least once a month? You can forget that! It’s hard enough to clean them once every few months let alone once every month.

So Beautiac came up with a solution that for $20 USD a month you can have fresh brushes sent to you in the mail. I’m sure you’re wondering what the catch is. There isn’t. For $20 a month, you don’t only get new brushes delivered to your door, but you only get the brush heads. When you first purchase your Beautiac kit, you receive three handles for brushes that you can actually remove the brush heads keep the handles. The brush heads are interchangeable!

Oh, I haven’t even told you the best part. You’ll also receive a little shipping bag that you fill up until it is completely full. Once that is done, you can send it back to the company. But what do they do with all these brush heads? They recycle them! That’s right, not only are you getting new brush heads but you are also being good for the environment and recycling the old ones!

Another fun thing about Beautiac is that the factory that makes the brushes hires whole families so that the family isn’t separated and they house them near the factory as well. So every evening they all get to come home to one another.

Have I convinced you yet?

The Brushes & Sponge

Right now, there are only three brush heads and a sponge for their collection. But they’re slowly working on new brushes – one of which I’m extremely excited for. There is their Foundation Fix Brush Head, the Blush Habit Brush Head, and the Powder Possessed Brush Head.

For me personally, the flat foundation brush doesn’t work but they are currently working on a kabuki style foundation brush that I’m extremely excited for so I can see if it will work with my Fenty foundation. But currently I don’t use it because it doesn’t work for me.  I use the Blush Habit Brush for my all over face powder. It’s large and fluffy which in my opinion helps with getting my setting powder evenly distributed. But that’s the thing about these brushes! You can use them however you want for your makeup. I use the Powder Possessed Brush as my blush brush because it’s more compacted and works better for that!

The sponge is my absolute favorite though. It can be used dry or wet. And the best thing for me is that it is latex free! I have a slight latex allergy that starts to make my skin itch if I use a product that has it in it. So I’m really grateful for this sponge.

What do I get in the Starter Kit?

In the VIP Starter Kit, you get all three brush heads, the sponge, three brush handles, a brush stand, and an antimicrobial bag to store all of this in! My favorite thing is the stand personally because you can stick these brushes along with any other brushes you use in it. Plus it’s dishwasher safe – not that I use a dishwasher. But the point is that it is so easy to clean if you need to clean it.

Subscription Types

As of right now there is no way to personalize your subscription other than setting it up for month to month ($20 USD), three month subscription ($18 USD), and six month subscription ($16.50 USD). However, when I talked to them at the Blogger Xchange Xpo, they told me that they were working on personalizing your subscription because there are those like me who don’t use certain brushes and don’t do their makeup often. Like, I’ve done full glam makeup maybe five times in the last three months. So I don’t use my brushes all that much and I keep them in the antimicrobial bag that Beautiac gives you in the VIP kit so that they aren’t around all the germs of my apartment.

So though this is limited, they have heard the words of the people and are working to fix this.

Have I convinced you yet?

If I haven’t, then you need to check them out on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Reach out to them and get the full scoop on these yourself because I know I probably haven’t done them as much justice as they deserve for creating an amazing product as well as doing amazing things for the communities where their operations are located.

Are you going to give them a try? Let me know down in the comments if you are or have!

XOXO,

Trula Marie

  1. I hardly ever do my makeup but now that I’m starting my new professional job I was considering going out and getting back into the swing of things with foundation and powders and the like. But then I was like “ugh that’s so much work!” and decided not to haha!!! I have really sensitive skin and don’t want to go through the breakouts that are sure to happen. BUT I do have an amazing brush set! It’s from Quo and I’ve had it for AGES! And it came with a carrying case and a spritz bottle of cleaner as well. Which has lasted for I don’t even know how long! It’s amazing stuff too. Once you use it, the brushes are like brand new. I only use the eye shadow brush when I put on eye shadow but the brush is still in great shape.

This is a great idea for a company though! I like that they want the old heads back so that they can recycle them. That would make it worthwhile for me to sign up if I was in need of such a service. But even when I did more makeup I couldn’t have justified it lol.
