My Favorite Group of Gals

Happy Friday, Belles & Beaux!

Also happy February!

I had planned on doing this a little later with a few quotes from my fellow UrbanGirls, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share my newfound group with you all! I will hopefully be doing a much more in depth post later, but for now I just want to share my joy of this group with you.

So over the summer I was added to the group and I didn’t really start fully interacting until the last three months or so. And by interacting, I mean going to happy hour at Walden – my new favorite bar! I’ve made some new friends, but we’ve all been super busy in our own lives to meet up past Wednesday nights at the bar – which I will be routinely going to once this week’s cold snap goes away.

Now for me, most of my friends in Nashville are my women’s fraternity sisters. I have a little bit of a hard time finding women that I enjoy the company of because like most women today, I’m a combination package of your not-so-typical woman. In UrbanGirl Nashville, I have found that group of incredibly strong and passionate women who are all #GirlBosses because they have carved their way into the city through their jobs.

The best part that I have personally found in this group are friends that are all positive about their lives and willing to help me find the positivity in what is going on in my day to day. I don’t want to say it feels like another version of the group I keep around myself, but it’s definitely a different tribe that is centered constantly on being positive and supporting one another.

No, I’m not saying my friends are supportive. My friends are extremely supportive. But UrbanGirl is about more than making friends. It’s about networking and making connections. It gives the women in the group the ability to settle into the city as well as help each other find jobs, doctors, great locations for parties, and so much more! It’s a community centered in positivity and helpfulness.

It’s hard making it work in a new city. But with women working to support one another, how can you fail? Meeting this group of women has been amazing, and there is no way for me to say thank you to the ones who have been super supportive with the issues I’ve been having as of late in my personal life.

If you live in Nashville, then you need to join this group! If you don’t, then you really should look into a group similar in your own area that is all about women being supportive of women. From my perspective and in my personal opinion, having a group of women that are supportive of each other can help you in so many ways besides networking. So if you don’t have a group like this where you live, then be the one who creates it! Sometimes, you just need a night out with the girls.

What do you think of these types of groups?

XOXO,

Trula Marie
