The Latest of My Concerts

Hey, Belles & Beaux!

What a night! I literally can tell you right now, Florence + The Machine’s newest album is one of my absolute favorites despite no release of a deluxe edition. Do I care? Not really. This album has spoken to me in so many ways that I couldn’t really ever bring it to words. Literally, I felt like it was written for my soul. Sounds crazy, but it does. The tracks titled “End of Love” and “Hunger” have really spoken with my soul since the release of the album mid-summer.

I called around Nashville and at home to try to find this album. Only one Barnes & Noble came through with the album and they even sat it aside for me until I could get there to get it. Then I spent that evening with my record player playing is until two in the morning. For an album with 10 songs on it, it has really hit me deep in my soul.

I bought my ticket for this tour after the first track came out, titled “Sky Full of Song”. And that song told me this was going to be a concert I didn’t want to miss. And I definitely was not let down by Ms. Welch and the band.

I tried to hold off on going in to the concert early because I wasn’t really interested in seeing the opening act. To be honest, she wasn’t all that memorable and all I kept thinking was “Can Florence please hurry up and get out here?” I seriously wasn’t that into it and I felt like I was on a trip I didn’t want to be on.

Florence amazed me Tuesday night. I have only one regret – not buying the standing area ticket because she ran through the crowd. It literally killed me. I could have danced with my queen and I played it safe – even though the ticket would have cost the same as where I was sitting. Next time, I won’t play it safe and get the ticket because I could have been dancing with Florence!

But she had us really participate with the concert – holding hands with strangers as well as requiring everyone to put their phones away during a song. It was amazing and I really didn’t post on Instagram all that much because of how amazing it was. I was also far too busy trying to make myself hoarse while singing along with Florence.

If you haven’t checked out her music or you have and are on the fence about seeing her in concert, then please do yourself a favor and just do both. It is an experience that I will never forget and I can’t wait for the next album and the next tour because I’m going to be on the floor seats next time.

Hold on to each other – Florence Welch

XOXO,

Trula Marie
