It Just Wasn’t For Me

Well, Belles & Beaus, I officially canceled my Ipsy Glambag subscription.

Why?

I just wasn’t getting what I wanted out of it. I know for $10 USD a month I shouldn’t expect much, but some of the products just really weren’t me despite how careful I was about doing my reviews as well as my quiz when I first signed up.

Sure the samples were awesome on a level but they’re so small, you don’t really get to tell if you like some of the products. Plus, with me being on the extreme end of pale porcelain skin, not all the light colors really work with my skin. So I feel like that all glam bag or box subscriptions could really improve their subscriptions by offering more than just “light” as an option.

The subscriptions could change and start working by brand. Everyone knows to some degree what works for them with each brand. So why can’t we have the option to say that this brand doesn’t work for me in foundation or whatever?! I feel like that would make my life so much easier if I could just tell them “Hey this doesn’t work for me.” I got two separate foundations/bb creams that didn’t work for me because not everyone has the same definition of light. It’s the same for almost any shade!

We all know what products work best for us so we can base how a product will work when it’s similar to one we already use. I also believe that it would be nice to be able to establish your skin sensitivity. These things are personalized for us, why can’t they be a little more so with our sensitivities?

Would I go back to Ispy? No.

Would I try another subscription? Most definitely. But I think I’m going to do a little more research into the next one that I subscribe to.

Have a fabulous Tuesday, y’all!

XOXO,

Trula Marie

  1. Ooo I’ve had my eye on doing an Ipsy subscription! Thanks for the feedback. I’m super pale as well (I don’t think as pale as you, but close!) and find it so hard to find makeup to match my skin tone

    1. It’s hard! I loved most of the products I got, but still the size of them and the matching wasn’t all that good. So I might move on to another one in the future. For now, I think I have plenty of makeup!
