I Decided To Try Something New

Hey, Belles & Beaus!

Sunday was the first day of Ulta’s First Twenty-One Days of Beauty of 2018. I decided to take first day participation this go around while I was there getting my brows done – long story short missed my appointment Saturday afternoon and had to reschedule at a different Ulta. I love my E.L.F. Daily Facial Cleanser, but even when using it I’ve been having issues with the acne and having one or two pop up at least once a week. I woke up to a horribly painful one next to my left eyebrow last Friday.  So, I thought it wouldn’t be a bad time to maybe switch the game up.

Enter Philosophy’s Microdelivery Exfoliating Daily Facial Cleanser. I love stuff that exfoliates. My skin thrives when I can get the dead skin cleaned up and not have to deal with it. This also helps keep blackheads under control because you’re helping to control the oil buildup on your skin. Having a good cleanser is one of the things that helps keep my skin happy besides trying to stick to toning and moisturizing daily.

So when I saw that is was half off it’s normal price of $28 USD, I said why not. So here we are on day four and I’ve used it a total of six times.

I typically consider myself to have sensitive skin so most of what the general population uses, I can’t. This came with the instructions to use once every few days with sensitive skin as it’s similar to a chemical peel except it really isn’t because you scrub it onto your face with bare hands. You scrub this in for 30 to 60 seconds and then rinse it from your face before drying. I haven’t had any sensitivities pop up as of yet – knocks on wood.

Afterwards, I still use my rose water toner by Burts Bees and then moisturize my skin with my Garnier moisture rescue oil free lotion. Right now, I’m still experiencing some extra oily-ness on my forehead but this typically follows the first few days after I have my brows waxed as they use products – not the wax but cleaning products – that my skin is not accustomed to. It’s okay though! I just power through it.

So far, I’m loving how my skin feels after using this product. In comparison to most of the ones I use, this has not caused my skin to dry out as some do after daily use. I’ve only used it for six washes so it is still a possibility this could happen. Right now, however, I’m really loving how my skin feels. Basically it’s super soft and I have to try really hard not to touch it like I have to with my hair when it’s really soft. It’s part of why I like going down the aisles at the store with the throw blankets. I must touch all the soft stuff!

I’m doing really good as far as all that goes with keeping my hands off my face. Though I have a massive pimple trying to come up in the crease of my nose. It’s trying but not getting very far considering I’m washing my face every morning and night as well as using my toner and moisturizing my face. Hopefully, it’ll just dry up and won’t ever completely surface but it doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as the one next to my eyebrow on Friday. Most likely I’ll mud mask tonight just on that spot so I can try to get rid of it. I might also pick up some of my Biore stips and get a couple on my nose and chin to see if I can get some pores unclogged.

All in all, I’m noticing that my skin is super happy – but it could also be the amount of water I’ve been drinking lately. Who knows? I know that I don’t care as long as my skin is healthy and glowing.

Have a marvelous Hump Day, y’all!

XOXO,

Trula Marie
