On the Thirteenth Day of Blogmas

Hey, belles & beaus!

So my Ipsy glam bag for this month got in today and I thought it would be neat to talk about it today because it’s the December bag! And I got some pretty spot on goodies this month. I also got two face masks by Pūrlisse but I’m not going to review them because I haven’t tried them yet.

Lottie London Nail Polish in Shade Riot!

It’s blue. That’s all I can say about the shade. It is an electric blue and definitely not my kind of color. I don’t do deep blues. But other than the shade of the color, I am absolutely in love with this formula. It’s quick drying but not crazy quick that you can’t get a good base coat of color down. Like I said: great formula just not my color blue. I like blue, just not electric blue.

Pixi by Petra’s Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Orchid Ornament

Now I haven’t gotten to play with this yet, but I did swatch it on the back of my hand. If this is any indication of their other eyeshadows, then I’m pretty sure I’ll be buying more from them. It feels so soft and is extremely pigmented. Like, I’m in love and I usually can’t say that about a lot of makeup. They’re both shades of purple if the name didn’t give it away, but I can’t wait to put these on my eyes. They’re going to be a lot of fun.

Smashbox Cosmetics Lipstick in Legendary

I don’t know why I saw so many reviews that were complaining about this color. It’s stinking Christmas! Maybe Ipsy wants everyone to try a traditional holiday lip! I absolutely love this color and if you don’t want yours, please feel free to mail it to me. I just bought Mac’s Ruby Woo, but I think this is almost comparable with the color. I haven’t fully tried it yet – yet again, I just swatched it. But I can’t wait to see it on my lips! I might have another red to add to my collection.

NYX Professional Makeup Slide on Pencil in Brown Perfection

I used to use brown colors as my liner when I first started doing my makeup – back in the days of high school. So I’m kind of excited to get back to my roots on the brown eyeliner. There’s something about how soft it can be. Again, I swatched it on my hand and I love the way the consistency felt on the back of my hand. I honestly can’t wait to see how well it stays on my eyes because the last eyeliner I used with similiar consistency didn’t stay well, but I’m all for new experiences with makeup!

What kind of makeup samples have you been in love with? Do you subscribe to a makeup subscription box?

XOXO,

Trula Marie

  1. Ooo no pictures of the pretty things?! I’ve been thinking of signing up for ipsy but I’m not sure how much of it I would actually use. Basically only the nail polish haha which sounds like a really pretty colour!! I love the dark blues – especially for Christmas/winter. They make good “sky” backgrounds for snowmen or snowflakes hehe.

    1. There is a picture on the instagram! I just didn’t get to upload it here. I use four of the five things that get sent to me out of the last three bags. The two other things I don’t use were the wrong coloring for me. Light is just not light enough for me. To me 10 bucks on that is not bad. Plus I got like six things this last time because I got two different face masks!
