On the Fifth Day of Blogmas

Okay, belles & beaus,

I wish I was actually getting to bake today but sadly that’s not an option. However, I thought it would be fun to talk about what my favorite holiday treats are. I don’t share recipes for these because my mom doesn’t measure anything. Meanwhile, my gingerbread cookie recipe is at home and I will share it when I do a baking day where I actually bake.

But for me, this is the time of year when mom starts breaking out the family fudge recipe. Typically she makes just plain chocolate or peanut butter fudge, but in more recent years I’ve actually started eating it. I was never a big fan of it as a child which I contribute to my lack of a sweet tooth. But now, I’m actually in love with it and mom makes a special fudge for me. She combines the chocolate and peanut butter fudge into a single recipe and I swear that it tastes just like a reese cup without the cookie. So it’s definitely one of my favorites and I can’t wait for mom to start making it.

Another one of my favorites is mom’s homemade ginger bread. Legit, I have asked for this stuff for breakfast before! It’s so good and only the best when it comes right out of the over and is warm. I mean, it’s still good after but it’s at the best when it’s fresh out of the oven in a cast iron skillet. There is just something warm and cozy about eating freshly made gingerbread while you’re watching Christmas movies.

Gingerbread cookies are a favorite as well. I’m somewhat addicted to gingerbread in general. But I love these cookies nice and thick with a little white vanilla icing on them! To me, they are absolutely the best kind of cookies and I fully plan on making a dozen or so of them soon.

My final treat is not really holiday themed, but it’s chocolate pie. My cousin or mother usually make one during the holidays for me and it’s definitely my final favorite. Chocolate and I are best friends and I love pie as well so it’s just natural that I love chocolate pie! So hopefully this will make an appearance since I missed out on it during Thanksgiving.

What are some of your favorite holiday baked goods? And sorry this is so late! I’ll try to get tomorrow’s out earlier!

XOXO,

Trula Marie
