But I’m Gonna Keep Trying Them All
Hello, lovely soul,
With the pandemic, I started to upkeep my nails a little more hardcore. And there was a lot of time to have youtube up in the background so I watched a lot of Simply Nailogical videos. These videos included her one about how to properly file your nails.
Did you know that normal emery boards will actually shred your nails as you file them?
Also, don’t clip them with nail clippers. You’re gonna split those nails. You can just go watch Mom Nailogical’s video for all of those details. We’re here to talk about nail glass files and why not all of them are created equal.
Why? Because I’ve literally worked hard to find one I love and it’s been quite difficult to find one that really has a nice grit.
So let’s walk through the ones that I have used.
Sally Beauty ASP Crystal Nail File
- Ten Witchy Nails Approve
Yeah, this is the one I keep in my nail kit at home. I use it all the time. It is cheap but it is absolutely my favorite so far. The grit is just perfect and it fits in most of the cases that come with a lot of the other files on the market.
- Zero Witchy Nails Approve
Do not buy this one. Yes, it comes with a case. Yes it is black. But the grit on it is horrible. I mean it smooths. It’s great when you realize you accidentally cracked a corner of your nail off. But other than that? No. It doesn’t do the same as my ASP one from Sally. But I have left this one at work more as a if I crack something there type emergency.
- 5 Witchy Nails Approve
One of my friends got me one of the big ones pictured in this and it was good to a degree grit wise, but it definitely didn’t do what I love that my ASP one does. It just… It felt like no matter what kind of pressure I put on it, it still wouldn’t really file my nail down. Which if you watched Simply Nailogical’s video, that’s the point of these suckers.
- One Witchy Nail Approves – and it’s just really because of the case.
Yeah, within a few days with this one I chunked it. It didn’t work well. And the point of the crystal files is that they’re supposed to last longer. And well… This one lasted a week. However, I did save the case and put my ASP one in it to keep it protected.
I have plans to test quite a few more, but I keep going back to my Sally nail file because it’s the only one who has proven itself worthy of my allegiance. I’ll keep you all posted as I keep trying them.
Light & Love,
Trula Marie
