Seven Years of Blogging

Hello, lovelies!

While the sad goodbye post to the free WordPress blog is going up over there, we’re gonna have the celebratory party here of not only going self-hosted, but also seven years of blogging.

Seven freaking years.

I know I took 2020 and 2021 kind of easy and 2022 started off the same way, but it is here. The blog is self-hosted. I’ve got stock piled content that will be coming your way.

You also might be wondering why I took 2020 & 2021 kind of easy. The easy answer is that I was in survival mode for a lot of reasons. A lot of it had to do with the work situation in regards to the pandemic. I ended up not being happy at the job I was in 2020 due to a random change in how I was being managed – micromanagement came in at the end of my second year in the position which was highly irritating. Plus the compensation was BS.

I switched jobs in 2021, but that also came with its own issues of some micromanagement and lack of organization in some forms. Thankfully, I feel I can safely say that I am in love where I have landed as of the beginning of 2022. The company is focused on building the culture as they grow. Plus the last six people my recruiter had placed there are still with the company which is a huge thing to me. The culture has been so amazing and I get to work a hybrid schedule.

This has allowed my creativity to thrive and be able to better determine where I see the blog going in the next few years. I’m thankful for all of you who have joined me on this journey and are still here.
