A Thriller I Devoured
Hello, lovelies,
I have plans to fill you in on my Book of the Month subscription, but that will come at a later date. Right now, we’re going to talk about my advanced copy of A Flicker in the Dark that I received via them as one of my potential book selections.
Stacy Willingham’s debut novel centers around Chloe Davis, a psychologist located in Baton Rouge. As a child, Chloe’s father was arrested and found guilty of the murders of six teenage girls. Now as an adult, she has tried to put that behind her until the murder of a teenage girl in Baton Rouge starts to dredge it all to the surface. When another murder takes place – this time it is one of Chloe’s clients -, she starts to try to piece together who would be doing this and if it is potentially a copy cat murderer.
When I first read the summary of this book, I knew I had to make it my December 2021 book. Well, I was so centered on finishing the Shadow and Bone trilogy that this kind of fell off the wagon in regard to reading it. But I finished it Sunday (1/9) evening, unable to set it down once I got deeper into the book.
I thought at least twice I had figured out the truth, but to be honest, the ending through me for a loop. The ending thoroughly blew my mind and I cannot recommend that you read this book even more. It drops today (1/11) so if you’re lucky and your bookstore has it in stock, definitely grab a copy.
Happy reading!
Light & Love,
Trula Marie
