Sixth & Seventh Day of Yule

Hello, lovelies,

I know I was missing in action yesterday (December 26), but I had good reason. The holiday hangover was real and I needed a sanity day. That also included recording a major episode of the podcast I’m in. So today you get two for the price of one.

A Yule Tarot Spread

I typically do not create spreads to be used by other people. I did create one once by just feeling the cards out and letting them dictate when I’m done. However, for the Yule spread that I have here. I felt that it required a six card draw. And yes, it is in the shape of a tree. There is a process to my madness, I promise. I was unable to truly figure out questions to help work your way through the spread, but I find that focusing on general emotions in regards.

So the spread looks like a tree. But here are the correlations to the cards and their locations. This spread will work whether you’re using a true tarot deck or choosing to focus more on you via an oracle deck. I personally prefer the latter because I feel you don’t have to guess on the meanings all that much.

Yule Rituals to Combat Depression

It doesn’t necessarily have to be magick related to be a ritual. For me, I love my Thursday night yoga but it has nothing to do with my magick practice. It is simply a night for me to center my body and prepare for the next week.

Some rituals I recommend for the Yule that can help to combat the seasonal depression are as follows:

  • Create yourself a Yule/Holiday playlist with songs that make you happy, then blast that on repeat when you feel that mood kicking in!
  • Movies are one of my favorite things. I still watch a crap ton of “Christmas” movies, and so I will gladly pop those on and then just eat a snack while I do.
  • I know it sounds corny, but decorating really helps me when I’m in a funk. This year I put my tree up early and it really helped me get in the mood for the season – even if I lost momentum.
  • Cards. Even if you’re sending them out digitally, I find sending out holiday cards is extremely enjoyable.
  • Spending time with friends doing holiday themed things. I know sounds crazy. But I did a little Yule get together with some friends earlier this month and it made the whole weekend 10 times better.

I know not a huge list, but I like to keep things simple. So if you have any other recs or things that help you during the season, feel free to share them down in the comments.

Blessed Yuletide,

Trula Marie
