Tis the Season!

Hello, lovelies,

With the holidays quickly approaching and shipping delays expected to get worse, it seemed appropriate to share this on Small Business Saturday. Thus, I’ve worked my tush off – not really- to find you some great local vendors here in Nashville that I am absolutely in love with and are sure to have some items that will be perfect for someone in your life. Warning: I do not guarantee that all of these places will ship so be aware if you are not local.

Clay by Dani

My most recent beautiful find from many of the markets around Nashville. Danielle is local to the area and creates some amazing designs in her clay earrings. Don’t let the looks fool you. Not only are these super light weight but if you are a gauge wearer, she has also started to incorporate better options so that you can wear the earrings with your gauges. So head on over to her site to check out her stock. Some of my favorites have become the full moth designs as well as the individual wing designs.

Hey Mavens!

One of two lingerie stores on this list. Why you might be asking?

That’s because Annika deserves all the goodies. This is a local store to Nashville, but they do ship! These bralettes and undies are some of the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure of wearing, and I cannot wait to get more. I’m partial to finally getting my hands on a HM Leopard bralette – HINT, HINT Annika.

Also, don’t worry about not finding your size. Annika and co just opened up the sizing to 10XL. That’s right

Nashville Darlin’

The second of the lingerie stores. Darlin’ here in Nashville is amazing. If you’re local and don’t know your size, don’t worry about it! The lovely Katie is ready to assist you in finding not only your size but all the beauties she fills her shop with in your size as well. Trust me, I walk in and tell her my size, then she pulls all the ones including my sister size for me if she doesn’t have it in my size.

So if you’re local and need a good sexy bra or matching set, you got someone to hit up.

The Cat Shoppe

The only shop that I have found that is just for cats. The Cat Shoppe has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop and where I get a lot of Katherine’s toys as well as her litter.

Not only does this shop have a ton of cat toys and beds for them, but they also have home decor and food. The owner has also started fostering shop cats from the local shelter to help them have time out of the shelter as well as help them to be adopted.

Southern Crystal Company

I couldn’t make this list without including my favorite crystal shop. Now reaching almost nine months of being open, the ladies have curated even more goodies. Not only has the crystal selection grown, but the options of candles, clothing, and so many other items have just made the space even better.

Don’t forget to also purchase some yoga classes while you’re there! You won’t regret it I promise.

Whiskey Water Boutique

Another one of my favorite shops at Porter East and a neighbor just down the way from Hey, Mavens!. If you haven’t stopped in yet, then you need to. I love stopping in all the time and seeing all the new pretties. I love everything in the store even if I don’t get to shop there as often as I want. My favorite Whiskey tea mug came from here as well as the lovely hat I wore for the most recent Magick Room photoshoot.

If you’re already over visiting Hey, Mavens! then take a walk down the way to Whiskey Water. You’ll thank me later.

Yarrow Acres

Taking a quick trip down to Franklin now, this is where you need to go if you have plant parents on your list. I personally find myself always wanting to go back to this shop because the prices are so amazing and the lovely workers are great at giving advice on caring for your plants. They have a diverse collection and I couldn’t be more happy with the plants that I have brought home from here.

Domestic Craft

One of my dear friends owns this business and creates some stunning raku pieces. Ornaments for the holiday season, candlestick holders, vases for faux florals and that’s just naming a few. Not a single piece looks the same, and you will be in love with all of it. I promise!

Abstract Wolfgang

Another one of my friends. If you love artwork that tells a story but is abstract at the same time, this is where you need to be shopping. I personally own a print of one of my favorite pieces, but all of his artwork is astounding. You’re going to love it.

Dani Taylor

Another artist on my list whose water color creations literally can make me cry. No only does she sell prints but she also sells beautiful necklaces with her prints in them. I’ve linked her Etsy, but you can also shop her items by following her on Instagram (@danitaylor615) to see where she is going to be next as well as visit the 100 Taylor Arts Gallery to shop her items. You’ll know them when you see them. I promise.

Elevator Vinyl

While they do not have a website, Elevator Vinyl always has some of the most amazing finds when it comes to vinyl records. I absolutely love every time I get to go through the stacks to see what is new and if there is a new Stevie Nicks or Fleetwood Mac album that I can add to my ever-growing collection. Do yourself the favor, go see them.

The Hollow Valley

I’m picky about local shops when it comes to decks and such. I absolutely love The Hollow Valley. They just released their Tarot Deck this year, which you will be able to shop on the site. I did back the kickstarter so I’m set to get my copy soon, but I recommend checking out their site. You’re going to love all the products.

Swamp Fox Creations

Another one of my favorite local shops that I can’t help but love. The candles alone are worth shopping with Swamp Fox but you have to check her out for all of her amazing things. Seriously, I love every bit of it but I’m a candle fiend so I’m always going to promote the candles.

Howl Revival

Howl Revival creates some breathtaking taxidermy pieces with ethically sourced remains. I still regret not buying the cat spine when she had it, but maybe one day in the future. It’s all lovely and I adore the mix of floral with the skeletons that it just makes me so happy to see a second life given to something.

And that’s the short list…

I have plenty more that I could share that I have recently discovered thanks to a lot of local markets, but I wanted to narrow it down to some of my favorites.

So remember this holiday season to shop small as much as possible but to also shop local! I’m going to try to get a post together before the end of the week for my non-local shops that are small businesses as well.

Light & Love,

Trula Marie
