The Calculator Changing the Bra Game

Hello, Lovelies!

This is more for all my ladies no matter who they are. Yes, you reading this, you’re included.

The TikTok Craze that has been going like crazy is the A Bra That Fits calculator – which when it went viral on TikTok broke and was unavailable for nearly 24 hours – is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen or tried.

Why?

Well that’s a super easy answer to give. I am now wearing a bra size that actually feels good on me and I feel supported in the best way. While the balconette bra I recently ordered from Soma is a little irritating based on strap location in the cup, I am still feeling super supported and happy.

I can’t wait to do more bra shopping, but we’re not here to fully 100% talk about my experience. We are here to talk about the calculator and how amazingly accurate I feel that it is because I’m pretty damn shocked by this. I legit called one of my friends who has also done this in totally fucking shock that this bra fit so well.

So for reference, I was under the impression that I was a 38C. Based on the measurements that I took with my mother’s help, this was absolutely a lieYes, that did deserve both italics and bolded letters. Turns out after years of having stores like Victoria’s Secret and Soma measuring me with a bra on, it’s all a bunch of lies. The standardization of the measure of the bra size has been extremely detrimental to the female body or at least where comfort comes into play.

When you go to check out the website,  you’ll see that it calls for six separate measurements of the body. Three are for the bust itself and the other three are for the band size. You have to do this all without a bra on. Read that again please: you have to do all of the measurements without a bra on

I’m sorry if that sounds shouty but I would hate to have anyone misunderstood that because I’m sure there are a lot of us that thought for the longest time that measuring with it on was the way we were supposed to do this. Funny how that isn’t the case? If you don’t know  me well enough, that is total sarcasm right there. Point being that you’re going to do this. If you need help, don’t feel bad! Just call a friend that you trust to come help you.

Once you’ve input your measurements into the calculator – I personally recommend including any decimals if you don’t hit a whole number – make sure you do your measurements in both US and UK sizing. UK is more standardized in more locations and makes it easier to shop when you’re on sites that only have the UK Sizing. It is just a nice thing to have in your back pocket.

When you run your measurements, it will provide you your new size and then also provide you with a new sister size for you to try. I personally ordered what my true size is which is a 34 G/H. Now they came in on 4/21 and I gave them a try. The cup and band are amazing, however the straps did not get along with the way my body is built. So I’m back to the drawing board in regard to bras that will fit well and not aggravate me.

However, I highly recommend giving the calculator a try and joining the online community for it on Facebook. It’s been a great resource and I’m learning a ton about my boobs that I never knew before!

Light & Love,

Trula Marie
