Two Things I Never Thought I Would Type

Happy Tuesday, Belles & Beaux!

As I said yesterday, I had planned to post about this because I love to talk about the experiences I have and things I like to do around the Nashville area.  Plus, I really like trying new things when it really interests me so why not go axe throwing? I mean, my dream date would be to the gun range followed by a picnic so I think it’s pretty close right?

So Saturday night I headed out with a group to celebrate one of our friend’s birthday and she wanted to go throw axes at Flying Axes here in Nashville. They’re actually conveniently located near Smokey Thighs so the evening was literally set up for perfection.

We started off at axe throwing for an hour and let me tell, I didn’t think I was going to be sore. I was wrong. My whole right arm hurts because I totally tried to do it one handed. I’m not good at one handed. I can do it two handed though! I got a good rhythm after I figured out for me that I need to use my whole body to actually throw it properly.

It definitely got some aggression out and I felt so good after it, especially after the super early Saturday morning I had. We all grabbed our drinks before we headed over to throw. I’m not a huge beer drinker but go for wine and ciders mostly. This place not only carries the big names but they also have a few local places like Disken Cider so I ended up with my usual go to from there. So between the throwing and the friends, it was a lot of fun and extremely relaxing. I highly recommend it in general even if you’re not good at things like this because it was just so much fun. I love settings like this where it’s new to everyone and we can just enjoy the company.

After we got done we headed over to Smokin Thighs down the road and had dinner. For me, finding any kind of passable BBQ in Nashville has been hopeless. But I found something a little over passable when we got to Smokin Thighs. I got their “Thighs in a Pile” with their “Perfectly Awesome” sauce. This place focuses on BBQ chicken and I can’t wait to go again. The sauce that I go through was pretty good because I’m not a big heat fan but I also need a tiny bite to my sauce along with a little sweetness. The “Perfectly Awesome” sauce was just what I wanted and needed. Though I will say thing only thing that I didn’t like was how tiny my portion size was. I could have totally eaten more meat than what they had on the plate.

So all in all, I highly recommend doing these together or separately. They’re both great places and I had so much fun with my friends. I can’t wait to go back to either place!

I hope your Tuesday is great and goes smoothly!

XOXO,

Trula Marie
