Tonight I’m going to see New Kids on the Block, but I figured I would get y’all a new blog post today because A) I’ve been a sucky blogger and B) I finished the first season of a new (to me) podcast. I haven’t done a ‘Recent Listens’ post in a while so I figured I’d share with y’all.

So I have pretty much been binge listening at work yet again. Shocker! My job gives me the ability because I’m working at a computer inputting things all day. It gives me the ability to listen to them as I work so that I can focus on my work and not on the micro conversations that happen to go on around me.

Today I finished all six episodes of The Last Movie. This podcast follows Meerkatnip and Nic Silver as they try to find out the truth behind what is called the Last Movie – mostly referenced as Tenebras Occulta throughout the podcast.

Now I first started with The Black Tapes and it was an utter let down at the end of season three when the abruptly ended the show. However, I started listening to Tanis soon after and fell in love. During one of the episodes, Meerkatnip – MK from here on out – told Nic about the movie as it came up in her research of Tanis. They’ve gone on in the podcast of titled The Last Movie to research into the show.

The first season is only six episodes and I regret binge listening to them all in essentially one sitting today. But I also don’t regret it at the same time. Much like Tanis and my other favorite fictional story podcast Limetown, The Last Movie has dragged me into its world. I’m also slowly gathering a list of similar podcasts to give a wack because I much prefer fictional supernatural stories in comparison to true crime – though I have finished all the currently released episodes of Up & Vanished.

I’m honestly waiting for them to announce when Tanis and The Last Movie will be back with new episodes this year because both are so gripping. But the latter has definitely become my new favorite!
