Season 3 Speculations

Well, belles & beaux,

With the new season of The Handmaid’s Tale having a release date of June 5, I figured it was time for some speculation on my part as to what is going to happen in season 3. Now if you’re not interested in me spoiling seasons 1 and 2, you might want to just get yourself right on out of here. Because you have certainly had enough time to binge all of it and I’m not going to apologize for ruining it.

Burning It All Down

I have a very strong theory that June and Serena are going to burn the whole thing down now that Serena seems to be on the same wavelength as June. She’s pushing for more rights for the women, mostly evident as her husband walks her into a meeting of the higher ups. Basically June’s words of “Move the point” have begun to resonate with Serena – despite her apparent anger with June for not leaving with Nicole.

Hannah

I totally believe that in some way June is going to be reunited with Hannah. I somewhat speculate that she might somehow end up in some safehouse that Nick has created for them so that they can be together. He might actually redeem himself from the nickname of “Useless Nick” that so many seem to have labeled him in the fandom. I could be wrong but I can have hope. But we have been show in the commercials that June will be reunited with Hannah on some small level.

Emily & Nicole

We know based on a lot of the commercials that Emily definitely makes it to Canada as we see her walking into the hospital with all the doctors, nurses, and other people clapping. We also see Luke holding Nicole. I’m still wondering how he’s going to feel if and when he ever finds out that Nick is Nicole’s daddy. We shall see on this front if we will ever see this, but I kind of want that. It most likely won’t happen until the later season.

The First Fall of Gilead

I don’t think this will be the end of Gilead based off of Margaret’s books. According to the history we are given at the end of the book, there were multiple reconstructing moments with Gilead where they purged people from the Republic of Gilead. We only know what happens in the books thanks to tapes from someone named “June”. We don’t even know the truth of who it really is in the books. So I really think this will be the first fall that happens in Gilead that takes place before Gilead collapses completely.

I don’t have a lot to speculate right now because of we haven’t been given all that much in the commercials. But with a start date of June 5, I doubt we’ll have a lot more revealed before the show begins.
