Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Made Me Cry!

Hey, Belles & Beaux!

I’m back with a movie review for the most recent movie I’ve watched that is new to the silver screen. Well new in the sense that it has been redone for the newest generations to enjoy and see a story unfold in a way that we can understand it.

No offense to Barbara Streisand & Kris Kristofferson, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t cry at the end of their version of A Star Is Born. I won’t ruin the ending for you, but just be prepared with a lot of tissue. Now let’s jump into the review.

a_star_is_born___movie_poster_by_notearslefttocry-dc9snnwSeasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers — and falls in love with — struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

I went to see the movie with my little on Wednesday night as an early access opportunity with my Regal membership. Yes, I still had to pay for the tickets but I haven’t seen a movie in a while that made me feel the way this one did.

This is still the story that our parents knew with the version of the movie from 1976. Bradley took the story and brought it to life for a new generation. But it wasn’t just as an actor that he brought this story to life. If you didn’t already know, Bradley Cooper stepped into the directorial seat for this movie as well. And I’ve got to give it to him, he rocked the whole thing.

The movie is littered with amazing actors such as Sam Elliot, who plays the older brother to Bradley Cooper’s character. Lukas Nelson even makes an appearance in the movie as Bradley Cooper’s second guitarist in the band. While this is amazing, my mother probably still won’t watch it because Lukas never sings in it. However, I’m going to try to convince her to go with it.

This movie is a must see, just as all the critics who have already seen this movie have been saying. I’m not getting paid to say this either, y’all. Do yourself a favor and plan on making this your movie to see for 2018. The love and heartbreak of this story will have you on a rollercoaster that is definitely worth it. Gaga and Cooper have outdone themselves with this movie and I can’t wait to see what nominations come with it.

The album itself is amazing, the song “Shallow” being one of my absolute favorites. Also, Bradley sings in the movie as well as plays guitar. He’s a triple threat and I can’t wait to see what new movies he’s got coming after this. And I hope to see Gaga on the big screen again in more roles that suit her like this one did.

All you’ve gotta do is trust me. – Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper)

XOXO,
