I Somewhat Have One Now???

Hey, belles & beaus!

It’s been awhile since I posted anything about a makeup routine. I know I’ve mentioned some new products on occasion, but nothing really crazy.

Well with work, I’ve kind of decided to at least attempt some stuff. Just because I kind of love Jeremy Renner’s advice from before his acting days. He was a makeup artists if you missed that episode of Ellen Degeneres. She asked him his advice for women when doing their makeup. His simple reply was brows, eyes, and lips. Frame the face and everything else will be fine.

I’m not big on wearing foundation daily as it can break my skin out as Bare Minerals decided to mess with their formula and I can no longer wear the foundation that I have worn since 2007 when I was a freshman in high school because it turns PINK ON MY SKIN! I’m snow white with cool undertones. I AM NOT PINK! Please go back to your old formula, Bare Minerals, because you had it right and then you screwed it up. Royally. And that’s me trying to be extremely polite.

And because of them screwing with their already perfect formulas, I can no longer wear their BB/CC cream. So I use my Fenty sparingly because I don’t want to waste the only product I currently have that actually matches my skin tone. So I’m currently BB/CC cream-less. So I’m not doing any concealing or covering. Instead it’s just my normal wash, tone, and moisturize routine for my face.

For now I have perfect my trifecta using Jeremy’s advice excluding any foundation/creams.

Brows

I use my Benefit Cosmetics’ Gimme Brow in Shade 1 first to volumize and fill in most of the areas I have issues with in my brows. This also helps to show exactly where my bald spot is in my left brow so I can go back in with my pencil later and fix it. This also gives me the general shape of my brow from my regular waxings with the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Bar at Ulta.\

After I have them volumized to my preference, I take my Benefit Cosmetics’ Precisely My Brow Pencil in Shade 2. I fill in the areas where my Gimme Brow didn’t really help and structure them out a little bit more than the Gimme Brow does. Once I’m done, they are pretty much natural looking. I’m honestly debating on going a shade lighter in my pencil just because my brows seem to come out a little darker than I like, but it was the color that my Brow girl actually suggested for me.

Eyes

Okay I’m not going to lie. My cousin regularly puts her eyeliner on every morning. But this just isn’t my style. I honestly don’t need liner to define my eyes out and it would be hard to resist the temptation of doing a kitten wing. So for now, I generally just use my Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. This is my absolute favorite mascara that I’ve been using and I’m very close to trashing the rest that I use.

If I feel like it might be a possible watery eye situation for the day, then I use my NYX Waterproofer for my mascara because I’ve heard some bad things about the waterproof version of the Better Than Sex. However, I have not tried it yet so I cannot attest to the truthfulness of these reviews. It’s quite possible that I might give it a wack on day, but right now I’m content with the one I have.

Lips

Well this is not an always thing, but I keep a couple neutral colors in my purse at all times. So when I feel like putting a lip on, this is what I go towards because there is no need for a vibrant red lip at work. Plus I’m wearing a lot of spring/pastel colors. So my bright red doesn’t always go with all of them. But the point is that I at least keep a couple lip color options around. And no, I’m not lining my lips even though I preach that. For work, that’s just too much work!

I hope y’all enjoyed this little walk through my work day makeup routine. It’s really simple and low maintenance that doesn’t need a full face of makeup.

What is your quick makeup routine?

XOXO,

Trula Marie
