Happy Second Day of Blogmas!

Hey, belles & beaus!

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet due to my not even being home today. That’s right, another weekend home and I’m not even really at home. That’s because today I’m taking my niece to Memphis to go see Phantom of the Opera again. Her mom got us tickets back towards the end of September/beginning of October, so I agreed to go. I mean, I quite enjoyed going to see it the first time, but this time we’re going to have amazing seats.

Memphis is home to The Orpheum Theater. I saw one of my first on stage musicals there, Beauty and the Beast, at five. This place has absolutely no bad seating unlike where we went to see it the first time. So I’m much more excited about this time seeing it. Orchestra seating is always the best and I’d rather pay for that than really sit anywhere else in a theater like that.

The trip will most likely be the same length as the last time we went – which was to a different place but the same distance – so it’s going to be an interesting drive.  I miss going to Memphis. We used to go on occasion when I was younger, mostly to Wolfchase Galleria because it’s a good mall to go to. Plus there is a TCBY treats nearby to it so that’s a definite stop today either before or after the musical. I’m not really sure yet. But today is going to be amazing.

There might be a drive by Graceland to take some obligatory Christmas pictures at the house. If you’re not familiar with the name, Graceland is Elvis Presley’s home in Memphis that has been turned into a museum about his life. They have a few others in Memphis, but Graceland has a lot of the good stories behind it. I can still remember walking through it when I was in the first grade. We spent the whole weekend my whole spring break that year in Memphis going on the whole Elvis Presley rounds. The only thing we did that wasn’t Elvis related was the Pink Palace. It’s a really great place to go as well.

All in all, despite some of Memphis’ reputation, I quite enjoy visiting the city. It’s just one of those places that I like to go to on occasion. The shopping is pretty decent and they’re the only zoo in the state that I know of that has my sorority’s animal: PANDAS!

But I hope you all have an amazing Saturday. I know I sure am!

XOXO,

Trula Marie
