First Impression

Happy Tuesday, belles & beaus,

Well, I did it. I bought my first Lush product a week or so ago. And I can probably say without a reasonable doubt that it is going to be a game changer with my skin. I’ve used it a handful of times since purchasing so I have a really reasonable first impression of this product. But first let me give you a little background on the product itself.

Dark Angels face and body scrub is described by Lush as follows:

Black sugar and charcoal exfoliate and absorb excess oils to leave dull, oily or acne-prone skin feeling fresh and matte. Even oily skin can be sensitive, so we’ve made this one soft and soothing to calm redness and irritation, too. Its rhassoul mud base deeply cleanses to help prevent breakouts, while vitamin-rich cold pressed organic avocado oil nourishes skin to leave it soft and lightly hydrated. Use all over for perfectly smooth, bright skin. An angel indeed!

Sounds pretty awesome right? I have never actually used a Lush product since I heard about it, so I was obviously sketch about if they would work really well or not. I’ve had friends who use Lush products for certain things a lot so I wasn’t nearly as sketch about using their products as I would products I’ve never tried myself or heard of.

Saying goodbye to all that icky pore gunk! Hello, soft skin!

But this product? The last week has absolutely blown me away to say the least. I use it at night before I go to bed to deep clean my pores out after a crazy day. The use instructions are pretty simple. You just take a small pinch of the product and mix it with water to create a paste. From there you massage it into your skin. It exfoliates and cleans your pores out like magic – or at least to me it’s like magic. I’ve never used a product that makes my face feel this clean and it’s still that clean the next day when I wake up. I’m not saying I don’t still wash my face twice a day, but it has made me deeply consider just doing a once a day routine.

Seriously, I’m so in love with the product right now. But please excuse my ugly ass roots right now. I’m due to the hair stylist near the end of the month so that will be fixed then.

The product has done amazing things for my skin. I love how it feels after I use it. My skin is soft and my pores feel amazingly clean. It’s helped a whole lot with my black head problem, but I’m still planning on getting a black peel mask to see if I can’t get more out. But I’m so excited to find something that is actually showing me a difference with my skin. I’ll give y’all an update in a few months.

What are some of your go to face products?

XOXO,

Trula Marie

  1. I am so jealous. My skin is so sensitive that I break out whenever I use anything more than just an ivory soap to wash my face and an unscented, un-everything lotion lol

    1. I was worried about that myself because I have somewhat sensitive skin. It really hasn’t been that bad so far. It’s not nearly as abrasive as I thought it would be when you use the correct amount and mix it with water the way the instructions say.
