A Website Review?

Hey belles & beaus!

If you happened to notice on the main sidebar yesterday, then you know that I’ve officially put up the Influenster logo on my blog because I signed up. Well the idea was suggest by Kaitlin over at Here’s To Twenty Something to sign up for it because they do these cool themed boxes with products in them for you to review.

Sadly, I have not received one yet. But I’ve been doing a lot of short simple reviews on products there and have been attempting to grow my social profile so that I can hopefully have more products to review for y’all because let’s be honest, ain’t no one gonna sponsor this chick at the moment. And even if they did, y’all would still get the truth out of me no matter what because that’s why I do these things.

Well, Influenster is pretty much a place for all kinds of reviews. You connect your social media accounts to it and from there it totals your social impact score. So I currently have all of the social medias connected and have a social impact score of 1734. That includes all you lovelies here on the blog! So hopefully soon I’ll get my first box and I will have some awesome products to review for you all!

It’s been great so far and I really would compare it to Swarm where the more things you do the more badges you receive. I’ve been reviewing almost every makeup product I’ve ever owned along with making a list of future products I’d like to try just to give my opinion on them.

My only downside – and I will give an update on this – is that when you connect your blog to your account for your social media, they want to be able to manage your blog posts, comments, and tags. Like why? I’m planning on getting in contact with them about this because let’s be honest, I’m doing this to give my personal opinion on something. You can’t just decide you don’t like it and then change it. That’s not how the blogging game works. So once I contact them and get some feedback, I will let you all know.

Do I recommend it if you just wanna find new products? Completely! Do I completely recommend it if you want to get the boxes, not so much. They haven’t asked for my address yet and I don’t know if I’ll ever get a box at this point. So we’ll see.

Do you have any websites similar to Influenster that you would recommend? Leave them in the comments!

I’ll see y’all Wednesday with – hopefully – an update on the planner situation!

XOXO,

Trula Marie

  1. Influenster is amazing! I haven’t really studied make up and beauty in last 10 years and things have changed completely! Influenster has helped a ton on where to start. I’m also in love with Boxycharm. Enjoy!

    1. So far I love it, but like I said: I don’t get why they need to be able to manage comments, tags, or blog posts. It’s my blog. I’ll post what I want when I want. So it’s something I’m looking into with them.

      1. I’m guessing it’s part of their marketing. Like the shimmer voxbox I got. Brigeo wanted to make sure that I shared my review with all my social media platforms especially my ones with tons of followers. Now days the best form of advertisement is word of mouth.
