The Matt Damon Movie I Didn’t Know I Needed

Hey belles & beaus!

So today we’re getting to the nitty gritty on Matt Damon’s latest flick The Great Wall. Mom bought it because she loves Matt Damon and guess who just downloaded the digital copy because mumsy can’t read the itty bitty subtitles and had to pause it every time they popped up? Yep, I did. Granted on her big TV even I had trouble reading the subtitles because they were itty bitty so I don’t blame her one bit.

I saw so many critiques about what are white and spanish looking guys doing on the Great Wall of China. Well guess what, they didn’t white wash this movie and it stuck very to the Chinese culture in my opinion. The little English that was spoken in this movie was by those who would generally speak English and those who were taught to speak it.

The acting was amazing even though majority of the time you were having to focus on the subtitles to a degree. I honestly thought that the only good parts were going to be the ones that they showed in the commercials but this movie blew me away! You really get wrapped up in the world that it creates. I’m glad I got to see it at home though because it would have sucked having to watch it in theaters and read subtitles while I was at it. I don’t mind a little reading but this movie has a lot of it so much better to watch at home.

All in all, I give it a solid 8.5 on my scale of 1-10.  I mean there are obviously things that could have been better. I would have loved to have had more of the backstory but that’s my personal pickiness coming at you. But if you’re into good action movies, this is definitely right up your alley!

What action movies have you seen recently that blew you away?

XOXO,

Trula Marie
