Hey, Belles & Beaus!
Today I am so excited though I am currently sleeping half the day away. You guys, it’s my second favorite holiday. Halloween first and now it’s St. Patrick’s day!
Okay, yes I know I’m a self-labeled “Southern Belle” but I’m half Irish. I love getting to celebrate my heritage. So today I am planning on dressing in my prettiest t-shirt that proclaims my Irish-ness and head out for the day.
So for my St. Paddy’s day post, I thought I might share some fun tidbits with you.
First off: Ireland’s color is actually blue. Yeah, I didn’t see that one coming either when I first read up on it. They still use the green but the official color of state is the St. Patrick’s blue.
Second, their symbol is a shamrock which is your typical three leaf clover, not the lucky four leaf as some would prefer to believe.
Third, you guys we started the whole parade thing, not the Irish…. Sorry!
I think my favorite part of this holiday though is just getting to be me. I love getting to wear green – it’s not my all time favorite color but it’s a favorite none the less.
So get out there, celebrate this amazing holiday, and have yourself a little fun while you’re doing it!
